Swedish tech giant, Lenovo, partners Trustly, offers open banking at checkout in UK, Europe

The multinational technology company, Lenovo, is collaborating with Trustly to introduce a new open banking solution at the point of sale for its clients in the UK and continental Europe.

A press statement by Angus Cormie, Head of eCommerce for EMEA at Lenovo, confirmed the partnership.

The checkout technology will be provided by Trustly, a multinational open-banking payment platform, while Lenovo provides its clients with this new technology as a quick, simple, and secure method of making payments.

Customers will have access to a different payment option through the service that is less susceptible to fraud than credit or debit cards.

The press release said the new service is less prone to fraud than conventional payment methods like debit and credit cards; according to Trustly’s statistics, its e-commerce platform has a fraud rate of 0.01%.

Compared to conventional payment methods, the checkout technology is secure because it lets users pay for Lenovo goods and services straight from their bank account.

It will also improve payment experience for customers, while protecting their data through seamless integration and high security operation.

Jussi Lindberg, Chief Revenue Officer, Trustly, shared, “We are thrilled Trustly is now available as a payment method for Lenovo’s customers.

“Our technology provides customers with a simple, fast, and secure way to pay. Using Open Banking means payment speeds are as low as 10 seconds, making the checkout significantly quicker.

“We’re excited for Lenovo’s customers to use our technology for an enhanced payment experience.”

Earlier this year, Trustly collaborated with MoneyGram to offer cardless payments to millions of MoneyGram consumers throughout Europe.

“Offering Trustly’s Open Banking checkout service allows us to improve the checkout experience for our customers,” added Angus Cormie, head of ecommerce EMEA at Lenovo.

Earlier report stated that Amazon Italy and the Italian payments company, Nexi, have partnered to enable BANCOMAT Pay payments for users of the online store.
