Supreme Court affirms elections of six governors

The election of six governors were on Friday, January 19, upheld by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The six governors included Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Dapo Abiodun of the APC in Ogun State, Inuwa Yahaya of the APC in Gombe State, Sherrif Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Nasir Idris Kauran of the APC in Kebbi State and Uba Sani of the APC in Kaduna State.

The six governors contested the March 18, 2023 governorship polls in their respective states.

The Supreme Court dismissed the appeals filed by the candidates of the opposition parties who challenged the victory of the governors at the tribunal and the Court of Appeal.
