The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has summoned Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, to appear before him for an inquiry into all appointments made during their two-year administration.

The officials have been directed to submit relevant documents and provide detailed explanations on the procedures and justifications behind their appointments. The hearing, scheduled for Friday, 18 April 2025, at 10:00 am, will take place at the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt.

Governor Fubara, currently suspended, will also have the opportunity to present his case for reinstatement during the session. Both leaders are required to attend in person.

In a statement, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibibia Lucky Worika, emphasized the importance of strict accountability.

He stated that the inquiry would scrutinize all administrative actions over the past two years as part of efforts to restore transparency and lasting peace in the state’s governance.

“Attendance is mandatory,” Worika said. “This process aligns with the Sole Administrator’s commitment to ensuring proper governance in Rivers State.”

Legal analysts suggest the probe could have broader implications for state administration and political stability in Rivers State
