Seven Imo PDP officials support Uzodimma’s second term bid after decamping

The Imo State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) have received seven members of the State Working Committee who deamped from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, just 24 hours after quitting the party in the state.

The decamped PDP members were led by the Deputy Chairman, Martin Ejiogu, who vowed to support the November 11 reelection of Governor Hope Uzodimma.

The seven PDP officials had resigned from their various positions and dumped the party on the claim that there was no indication that Senator Anyanwu, the party’s candidate, was serious about running for governor in November.

The former PDP officials informed Governor Hope Uzodimma of their support for his administration and their decision to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday during a courtesy visit to the Owerri Government House.

They pledged to back the Uzodimma-led administration and the governor’s reelection on November 11, 2023, claiming his excellent leadership and sound administration of the state in the last three and a half years were the main determinants of their decision to decamp from PDP to APC.

Gov Uzodimma, who praised them for making the brave and constructive move, asked them to support his administration to provide the state’s citizens with effective governance.
