Senators Opeyemi Bamidele emerges Majority Leader, Ali Ndume as Chief Whip

Senator Bamidele Opeyemi has been elected as Majority Leader of the 10th Senate. Senator Bamidele, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, represents Ekiti Central Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly.
Also, Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, emerged the Chief Whip.
Both Senators emerged on Tuesday after a close-door meeting presided by Senate President Godswill Akpabío.
Their emergence followed the recommendation by the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday, read an official communication from the majority caucus of the red chamber, saying it was a concensus and unanimous position of the APC members in the red chamber.
The Senate President also announced Senator Dave Umahi ( Ebonyi South) as the Deputy Majority Leader; Senator Ali Ndume (Borno South) as Chief Whip; and Senator Lola Ashiru (Kwara South) as the Deputy Whip.
The Senate immediately dissolved into a closed session.
