Security agencies subject Emefiele to fresh trouble after his release on bail

There appears to be a frsh trouble for former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, who has just regained his freedom from Kuje Correctional Centre, in Abuja.
Emefiele is being monitored by security agencies and it would appear he is on security watchlist of the Federal Government.
Indeed, Emefiele was released from Kuje prisons after meeting his bail conditions on Friday, December 22, 2023.
According to the spokesperson of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in charge of Kuje Correctional Centre, Adamu Sampson Duza, Emefiele was released on Saturday.
He told journalists, “I can confirm to you that he (Emefiele) has met his bail conditions, hence he has no reason to remain in our facility. He met his bail condition and was released past 2pm yesterday (Friday).”
Hours after Emefiele’s release, however, indications are that security agencies’ operatives are monitoring Emefiele’s movements.
Sources close at the Nigeria Immigration Service indicated that Federal Government may have directed the Service to watch over Emefiele’s movements in and out of the country.
The ground for this may not be unfounded, especially as a private investigator, Jim Obaze, has uncovered a massive corruption scandal at the CBN under Emefiele’s management as the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor.
According to a report he submitted to President Bola Tinubu, Emefiele operated over 500 illegal foreign bank accounts and used his cronies to purchase some commercial banks, among other weighty claims.
Emefiele is yet to speak on the allegations raised by Obaze.
