Renowned Nigerian Entrepreneur Pascal Dozie Passes Away at 85

Pascal Dozie, a celebrated Nigerian entrepreneur and business leader, has died at the age of 85, just a day before his 86th birthday.

Sources close to the family confirmed that he succumbed to age-related illnesses. 

Dozie was a multifaceted figure, best known for establishing the now-defunct Diamond Bank and serving as Chairman of MTN Nigeria and Pan-Atlantic University. Born on April 9, 1939, in Egbu, Owerri, Imo State, he held a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a master’s in Administrative Science from City University, London. 

Beyond banking, Dozie founded the African Development Consulting Group, collaborating with global giants like Nestlé and Pfizer. After his tenure as MTN Nigeria Chairman, he was succeeded by Ernest Ndukwe. 

In recognition of his impact on Nigeria’s banking sector, he was honored with the Order of the Niger (OON). He leaves behind his wife, Chinyere Dozie, five children, and other relatives.
