PSG seeks to attract Jennifer Echegini from Turin
French D1 Arkema club Paris Saint-Germain is attracting Super Falcons player Jennifer Echegini from Italian football team Juventus based in Turin.
A report published by Totto Juve a day after the 23-year-old submitted a transfer request to Juventus after just six months at the club disclosed this.
Reports say PSG have been keeping tabs on Echegini and are now ready to make an offer for the player as they aim to bolster their squad with the young talents.
Echegini told the team she wanted to leave because she didn’t fit in with Italian football and its culture.
Early this month, the player was named as the Women’s Serie A’s best U-23 player for 2024.
The Nigerian player, a Management graduate from Florida State University, joined Juventus six months ago after leaving the Florida State Seminoles.
Echegini significantly impacted the second half of the season with 10 goals and one assist in 16 appearances.
“The 23-year-old, born in the Netherlands and raised in London, played a key role in Juventus’ UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification.”
