Prominent Businesswoman Adebisi Edionseri Dies at 89, Funeral Set for Monday
Khadijah Adebisi Edionseri, widely known as Iya Sunnah of Egbaland and “Cash Madam,” has passed away at the age of 89 following a brief illness.
Her son, Adebayo Adebowale, confirmed her demise in a statement, stating, “With deep gratitude to Allah for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Princess Kadijat Abike Adebisi Edionseri (née Elegbede), who returned to her Creator on 5th January 2025 at the age of 89, following a brief illness.”
The statement described her as a beacon of grace, dignity, and unwavering faith, noting her profound impact on her family and community.
“She taught us the importance of love, resilience, and faith in Allah, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.”
The funeral will take place at her residence in Abeokuta at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, in accordance with Islamic rites.
