President Tinubu stumbles briefly in Ankara, in great shape, continues official schedule unaffected – Presidency

The Presidency has addressed an incident in which President Bola Tinubu momentarily lost his balance during his official visit to Ankara, Türkiye, on Tuesday.

His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated that the stumble occurred after the President stepped on a metal object on the floor.

He emphasized the minor nature of the event, calling it “a mere stumble, thank God, not a fall.”

Onanuga urged the public to disregard attempts to sensationalize the incident, asserting that President Tinubu remains fit and is fully committed to his duties.

Following a ceremonial reception, President Tinubu proceeded directly into his scheduled bilateral meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other senior officials.

Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, confirmed the seamless continuation of the visit via a post on his verified social media account.

The discussions focus on strengthening diplomatic relations and expanding cooperation in key sectors such as defence, security, trade, investment, and energy.

The Presidency highlighted that the ongoing visit underscores the growing ties between Nigeria and Türkiye and reflects Nigeria’s renewed diplomatic engagement under President Tinubu’s administration.
