President-Elect Tinubu Sues For Peace In Supplementary Elections

Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sued for peace over the supplementary elections holding in the country.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, slated the supplementary elections in some states where election was declared inconclusive for Saturday, April 15.

Ahead of the elections, Tinubu, is calling for peace in the states, urging voters to shun violence.

The supplementary governorship elections will hold in Adamawa and Kebbi states.

It will also take place in five senatorial districts, and 31 federal and 58 state assembly constituencies.

In a statement on Thursday, Tinubu described the scheduled supplementary polls as the “last leg of the 2023 general election”.

He noted that the exercise must be brought to a peaceful conclusion.
