Police arrest two kidnap kingpins in bid to collect ransom in Kaduna
The police under the aegis of Force Intelligence Bureau FIB-IRT have arrested two kidnap kingpins in their bid to collect ransom for the kidnap of a middle aged man.
The middle-aged man was identified as Jibril Saldu 35 male of Bandoko area of Kachia local council area of Kaduna State.
The victim was taken into captivity by the two high profile kidnappers on April 29,2022 at 11.39am on the ever busy expressway by kinap for ransom criminals in Kaduna before noon.
The suspect were latter arrested and identified as Abdurahman Lolo, 20, male, a native of Gadam Mallam Mama on Abuja-Kaduna road and one Sanni Muhammadu, 25, male, of the same area.
Based on intelligence and reliable information, FIB-IRT officers attached to the Operation Puff Adder based in Katari Kaduna State upon receiving information about the kidnapping of a man around that axis immediately swung into action leading to the arrest of the suspects.
They rescued the the kidnapped victim by and mounted surveillance on the highway with a view to apprehending other kidnappers who may have ran away from the area due to the Police operation.
Both suspects after cross examination by a combined team of Police officers confessed to the crime and pledged volunteer information to help to track other members of the kidnapping syndicates around the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.
According to the key suspect Abdulrahm, only himself and Sanni Muhammadu actively participated in the latest kidnapping incident and they were yet to make any demand on the victim or his family before they were arrested by the Police.
Upon further interrogation, he said that they used cutlasses, tourchlight and sticks to haunt down and kidnap the victim adding that they were planning to abduct his wife and rape her before they they changed their plan and arrested the man.
It was also discovered that it was the victim’s motorcycle that the kidnappers wanted to use to convey him to their hideout at Gbadoko forest in the area luck ran out of them and they were arrested.
Police investigations further revealed that it was the mother of the victim one Hajia Hadiza that raised an alarm after his abduction and it attracted the attention of neighbours that reported the incident to the Police for urgent action.
In a related development, the Police team have arrested one Musa Mohammed 25 male a syndicate member of kidnap for ransom gang that operates and terrorised people along the same ever busy Abuja-Kaduna highway.
Upon interrogation, he also confessed to have been involved in most kidnapping operations along that highway. He said that the group usually block the road around Akilubu area of the expressway.
The Police authorities have order for a very comprehensive intelligence driven investigation of all the kidnap for ransom cases arrested by the Police team with a view to ensuring dilligent prosecution of all these cases
Force Spokesman CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has assured that all the suspects found culpable in these kidnappings would be immediately arraigned in the nation’s court of law to serve as deterebt to other criminals who are involved in kidnapping and sundry criminal activities in Nigeria.
