Police arrest popular broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat, for cyber bullying
The Nigeria Police have arrested a popular Ibadan-based broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat, on Thursday.
A statement by Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi gave the update that he was arrested by Force Intelligence Bureau, FIB.
The spokesman noted that Hamzat was transported to custody for a cyber bullying case under invstigation.
Adejobi said Oriyomi refused to honour invitation severally, which prompted the police to secure a warrant for his arrest.
“We are looking into the petition written against him on his violation of the Cyber Crime Act, 2015, and necessary action will be taken to do justice in the matter”, the statement said.
Hamzat has been vocal over the case murdered Timothy Adegoke, who was a Masters student at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) until his death.
