Peter Obi Urges Tinubu Govt to Expose Politicians, Military Aiding Boko Haram

Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has called on President Bola Tinubu’s administration to immediately identify, expose, and prosecute politicians and military personnel allegedly collaborating with Boko Haram terrorists.
Obi’s demand follows recent accusations by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, who claimed that some politicians and soldiers act as informants for the terrorist group.
During an interview, Zulum accused certain military officers and political figures of aiding Boko Haram, amid a resurgence of attacks in the North-East.
Commending Zulum for speaking out, Obi urged the federal government to act swiftly on the revelation, warning that silence would only embolden those undermining national security.
“The federal government must treat this revelation with the utmost urgency; words are not enough,” Obi said in a statement on Thursday. “The silence and inaction that often greet such explosive disclosures only serve to embolden the enemies within.”
He described Zulum’s allegations as “shocking and devastating,” adding that if true, they confirm long-standing fears that Nigeria is suffering not just from external threats but also from betrayal within its leadership.
Obi branded those aiding terrorists as traitors and demanded their immediate prosecution.
“Anyone who aids, abets, protects, or collaborates with terrorists, no matter their rank, title, or political office, is a traitor to Nigeria,” he declared. “Such individuals have no place in our institutions and must be identified, exposed, and prosecuted without delay.”
The Labour Party leader warned that Nigeria cannot defeat terrorism while “traitors sit in the corridors of power, feeding off the blood of innocent Nigerians,” calling the situation a sign of deep moral decay in the country.
