Oyo Govt urges cooperation as RCCG pastor becomes Soun of Ogbomoso

A new Soun-elect has been named by the Oyo State Government. He is Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor, Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye.
Governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, approved the appointment of Prince Olaoye as the Soun-elect of Ogbomosoland at the weekend.
A statement by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Olusegun Olayiwola, on Saturday, conveyed Governor Makinde’s approval of Olaoye as Soun-elect.
Olayiwola said the approval followed adherence to processes specified under the law.
The commissioner charged the monarch-elect to facilitate harmony, understanding and tolerance among his people.
He also urged the people of Ogbomoso to support the monarch to consolidate the successes of his forefathers.
The throne has been vacant since Oba Jimoh Oyewumi died on December 12, 2021.
