
Our visit to Obasanjo had nothing to do with politics – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has insisted that his visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday, had nothing to do with politics.
Atiku was in company of former governor of Cross River, Liyel Imoke, former Sokoto governor, Aminu Tambuwal, and Sokoto South senator, Abdul Ningi, on a visit to Obasanjo at the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Atiku arrived the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library, Abeokuta, at about 12:36 pm on Monday, where they had a closed door meeting with Obasanjo for about 1 hour 30 minutes.
Responding to reporters’ question, Atiku insisted that it was just a courtesy visit, declining to say further.
He stressed, “It’s just a courtesy visit please, I am not going to talk about politics please.”
Atiku was the Vice-President to former President Obasanjo between 1999 and 2007.
Earlier, Atiku had a meeting with former Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at his residence in Adamawa State.
