Osimhen in rousing welcome in Turkey

Victor Osimhen was received by tumutous crowd of football fans on arrival at Istanbul, Turkey.

Osimhen, who is on loan till 2025 with Glastasaray, was well received on landing in Istanbul at 4am as Turkish club confirm ‘official’ transfer talks with Napoli.

The Nigerian international striker is on a loan move from Serie A side Napoli.

Earlier, before the end of the deadline for transfer at the weekend, he had been linked with the Premier League club, Chelsea, and Saudi football club, Al Ali.

Due to the transfer drama that transpired on deadline day, Osimhen has been left off of Napoli’s match-day squad roster as a result of his failed move to either Chelsea or Al Ahli.

Romelu Lukaku, Napoli’s new signing, now wears the number 9 shirt, often worn by Osimhen, the current best player in Africa.

Osimhen will not join the first-team roster at Napoli for now as the European transfer market is closed, and there is no deal from Saudi Arabia in the next three days.

But the loan deal to Glastasaray fell through later as Osimhen arrived Turkey to a rousing welcome.
