Opposition Stirring Conflict Between Tinubu, Buhari – Presidency

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has alleged that displaced politicians within the opposition coalition are attempting to provoke tensions between supporters of Tinubu and those of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Bwala made the statement on Friday, clarifying that certain Buhari loyalists had misrepresented comments made by ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.

Recent reports had quoted Mustapha as saying Tinubu played no significant role in Buhari’s 2015 presidential victory, attributing the win instead to Buhari’s 12 million votes.

Dismissing the claims, Bwala likened the opposition coalition to a “hydra-headed octopus” seeking to rewrite history. In a post on X, he stated: “These internally displaced politicians are using their media allies to fabricate a rift between Buhari’s and Tinubu’s supporters.

They twisted Boss Mustapha’s words and even falsely linked an article to Garba Shehu to provoke me. Their efforts failed because Shehu and I resolved the matter directly.”

He further criticized the opposition, describing their actions as a futile attempt to distort facts and reignite old disputes.
