One of eight abducted Zamfara corps members regain freedom

One of the eight abducted National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Zamfara State has regained freedom through the efforts of security operatives.
The eight prospective NYSC members (PCMs) were abducted along with their bus driver in August in Zamfara State by gunmen on their way from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State to Sokoto State.
The corps members were going for the commencement of the one-year national service orientation course.
A statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Mr Eddy Megwa, disclosed this on Saturday in Abuja.
According to Megwa, the released prospective corps member, a female , regained freedom on Friday, at about 12.30pm.
“The scheme is confident that with the combined efforts of security agencies, the remaining will be released.
“As corps members and prospective ones alike are admonished by management to always prioritise their personal security.
“The scheme shall never shirk its responsibility of upholding the security and welfare of corps embers at all times,” he added.
