Obasa hails peaceful Lagos APC congress, congratulates Ojelabi on re-election

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi and other newly-elected executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State following the party’s successful 2026 State Congress.

The exercise, held on Tuesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium (formerly Onikan Stadium), saw Ojelabi and several others returned for another tenure in a process described as peaceful and transparent.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Dave Agboola, Obasa commended party members for their orderly conduct and said Ojelabi’s re-election reflects the confidence and trust reposed in his leadership.

“Pastor Ojelabi has shown remarkable dedication and vision in steering the affairs of our party in Lagos. His return as chairman is a well-deserved recognition of his efforts to strengthen the APC and ensure its continued success,” Obasa stated.

The Speaker urged the new executives to consolidate the party’s achievements, deepen internal democracy, and foster unity among members. He emphasised that the Lagos APC must continue to serve as a model of progressive governance and political stability in Nigeria.

Obasa also extended his appreciation to all delegates and stakeholders who participated in the congress, noting that their commitment to the party’s ideals remains vital to sustaining its success.
