Nwabali gets heroic welcome at South Africa's Chippa United after AFCON tournament

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali had a heroic welcome by players and officials of Chippa United following his sterling performance at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Nwabali was the Super Eagles goal tender at rhe final of the AFCON, where the squad lost only to hosts Cote d’Ivoire.

Nwabali saved two penalties in Nigeria’s win over South Africa in the semi-final of the competition, earning him rave reviews.

Since the tournament, encomiums have continued to pour in for the player. Upon his return to his club side on Tuesday, players and officials gave Nwabali a rousing welcome.

“He is back,” Chippa United wrote on their X handle alongside photos of players and staff welcoming the former Enyimba player back.
