Northern Nigerian Youth Forum pledges N200m for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid
The Northern Nigeria Youth Leaders Forum (NNYLF) has donated N200 million for the purchase of the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form for President Bola Tinubu’s anticipated re-election campaign in 2027.
The forum also formally endorsed Tinubu for a second term.
The donation and endorsement were announced at a high-level youth leadership and stakeholders’ engagement held in Abuja on Monday, January 26, 2026.
A communique issued by the forum’s national leader, Murtala Garba-Gamji, and director of operations, Dr. John Agbana, stated the endorsement was driven by a desire for policy continuity, reform consolidation, and long-term national development.
While presenting a dummy cheque to the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Garba-Gamji stated the gesture demonstrates the commitment of northern youths to the president’s re-election.
He cited Tinubu’s projects in infrastructure, security, and agriculture across the north as reasons for their support and expressed confidence that Tinubu would receive the highest votes from the region in 2027.
The forum called on young Nigerians to engage constructively in nation-building and urged stakeholders to collaborate with credible youth-led platforms. It also launched the “Renewed Hope Ambassadors” initiative.
In his remarks, the Director-General of TSG, Dr. Umar Tanko-Yakasai, welcomed the support.
He emphasized a principle of regional reciprocity, stating that as the South supported the North for eight years under former President Muhammadu Buhari, it is now the North’s turn to support Tinubu and the South to complete an eight-year administration.
