NNPP Dissolves All Party Executives in Kano Amid Gov. Yusuf, Kwankwaso Rift

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has dissolved its entire executive structure in Kano State.

The decision, affecting committees at the state, local government, and ward levels, was announced by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Oladipo Johnson, on Friday.

Johnson stated that the National Working Committee (NWC) reached the resolution during an emergency meeting, acting under the provisions of the party’s constitution.

He added that caretaker committees would be established to manage the party’s affairs in the state until the national leadership issues further directives.

This move occurs amidst a significant internal conflict between the party’s national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the incumbent Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf.

Reports indicate Governor Yusuf is contemplating a defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a prospect strongly resisted by Kwankwaso and his allies within the NNPP.
