NNPC report shows ₦531,000 youth grants, 1.54mbpd crude output, AKK, OB3 progress
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has released its December 2025 Monthly Report Summary, detailing strong financial performance, infrastructure milestones, and youth empowerment initiatives.
Under its Youth Empowerment Programme, implemented with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the NNPC Foundation disbursed ₦531,000 to each of 531 beneficiaries, building on earlier starter pack support.
The initiative targets youth entrepreneurship, job creation, and sustainable business development.
Economist Celestine Ukpong described the intervention as a strategic step in harnessing young Nigerians’ potential, adding that well-structured funding can stimulate micro-enterprises with significant long-term impact on employment and local economies.
Crude oil and condensate production averaged 1.54 million barrels per day, down from the 2025 peak of 1.77mbpd due to planned maintenance at Stardeep-Agbami and Renaissance-Estuary facilities and unplanned outages. Natural gas production stood at 6,914 million standard cubic feet daily, with the OB3 pipeline achieving 96% delivery efficiency.
Revenue for January to December 2025 hit ₦60.52 trillion, with profit after tax at ₦5.76 trillion and statutory payments to government totalling ₦14.71 trillion.
Financial analyst Peter Adebayo said the results affirm NNPC’s role as a national revenue engine, noting that profitability and remittances remain strong despite operational challenges.
On infrastructure, the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline has completed mainline welding, with work ongoing on IPS and BVS components.
The Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) River Niger Crossing has commenced pilot hole drilling following early works completion.
Upstream pipeline availability held at 100% in December, while NNPC retail stations maintained 65% PMS availability nationwide.
Ukpong noted that NNPC is balancing commercial performance with social responsibility, a dual approach essential for sustainable development.
Adebayo added that maintaining revenue, statutory payments, and operational efficiency while funding youth programmes reflects strategic alignment with both economic and social priorities.
All figures are provisional and subject to reconciliation. Full details are available on NNPC Ltd’s official website.
