Femi Soneye has resigned as the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) after serving for 20 months.

In a statement released on Saturday, June 21, Soneye confirmed his departure, expressing gratitude to his colleagues and the media for their support throughout his tenure.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you all for the unwavering support, professionalism, and genuine commitment you’ve shown in helping to shape and amplify the NNPC Ltd story over the past 20 months,” he said.

Soneye cited personal reasons, including the need to spend more time with his family, as the motivation behind his resignation.

Appointed on October 18, 2023, Soneye played a pivotal role in managing NNPC Ltd’s public relations during its transition into a fully commercial entity.

While he pledged continued support for the company’s mission, NNPC Ltd has yet to officially confirm his resignation or announce a replacement.
