Nigerians storm Abuja INEC headquarters for ‘save democracy’ protest

On Wednesday, a large crowd of Nigerians gathered at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Abuja as part of the ongoing “Save Democracy” protest. Many of the demonstrators wore “Operation Save Our Democracy” T-shirts, while others carried red and white placards bearing various messages.

Some videos on social media showed protesters and supporters of Aisha Yesufu, Mama Pee, Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, and several other activists taking part in the demonstration.

The atmosphere was charged with energy as protesters sang songs like “We no go gree,” while others chanted, “INEC Chairman Amupitan must go.”

Another video clip showed prominent opposition leaders—including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, and David Mark—preparing to lead the protest at Maitama Roundabout in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
