A Nigerian man has injected a new twist into the ongoing paternity controversy involving music star Davido, claiming he is the biological father of Anu.
In a viral video, the man, who calls himself Davido’s “twin,” asserted that he is Anu’s real father, alleging the child’s mother mistook him for the singer due to their similar appearance.
The clip has ignited a storm of reactions online, with comments ranging from disbelief and criticism to weary humor about the protracted drama.
This development follows a public request for a DNA test for Anu, who shared her distress over being bullied by classmates doubting her paternity claims.
In response, Davido has firmly denied being her father, stating he has undergone five negative DNA tests and expressed frustration, even threatening legal action against the child’s mother.
Anu and her mother have hit back, with Anu expressing devastation over Davido’s statements.
Her mother shared purported chat screenshots, alleging Davido long ignored them due to a mistaken belief about her identity, and called for a U.S.-supervised DNA test.
Davido’s father, Adedeji Adeleke, held a press conference to defend his son, stating Anu is not his granddaughter and detailing past DNA tests.
He also accused journalist Kemi Olunloyo of impersonating the minor online to attack Davido.
Davido subsequently thanked his father for “clearing the air” on social media.
