In a move to boost fuel accessibility and affordability, SGR, a licensed Dangote marketer, has launched two new petrol stations along the busy Shagamu-Ore expressway, bringing its total outlets to four within just two weeks. The new stations will sell petrol at N878 per litre, a price lower than those offered by both the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

Samuel Oyekanmi, SGR’s General Manager, stated during the commissioning that the expansion targets critical yet underserved routes.

“These stations reflect our commitment to serving Nigerians where they need us most. The Shagamu-Ore corridor is vital, and we’re ensuring motorists get quality fuel, efficient service, and fair pricing,” he said.

The event was attended by branch managers Oladele Giwa and Musa Owolabi, who reiterated SGR’s dedication to reliable service.

The company leverages its direct supply from Dangote Refinery and an efficient logistics network to maintain steady and affordable fuel distribution.

This development follows recent price adjustments by major fuel suppliers. Dangote Refinery recently reduced petrol prices for its partner stations to N890 per litre in Lagos and N900–N920 in other regions, while NNPC dropped its Lagos price to N880 per litre (from N910) and Abuja’s to N935 per litre (from N950).

Despite these reductions, Nigeria continues to rank among the world’s most affordable fuel markets, reinforcing its status as a leader in cost-effective energy access in Africa.

SGR’s latest expansion signals a competitive push to provide Nigerians with even cheaper fuel options along high-traffic routes.
