New Defence Minister nominee vows to secure Nigeria, calls for national unity

During his Senate screening on Wednesday, newly nominated Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), pledged to make Nigeria “secure and safe” amid the nation’s escalating security crisis.

President Bola Tinubu nominated Musa on Tuesday, following the resignation of the former minister, Badaru Mohammed.

Addressing lawmakers, General Musa emphasized a collective effort, stating, “I pledge to do my best to ensure that Nigeria is secure and safe. We need the support of everyone, every Nigerian, working together as a team.”

He described the nation’s adversaries as “evil forces” with no respect for human life and warned that a lack of unity would only enable further violence.
