NDLEA Arrests Iran-bound Woman With Drug Stocked in Private Part, Stomach, Other Suspects
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted several drug trafficking attempts across Nigeria, leading to significant seizures and arrests.
At the Port Harcourt International Airport, a woman, Ihensekhien Miracle Obehi, disguised in a hijab, was caught attempting to export cocaine concealed in her private part, stomach, and a false compartment in her handbag.
Acting on intelligence, NDLEA officials arrested Obehi on May 3, 2025, as she tried to board a Qatar Airways flight to Iran via Doha.
A search revealed three wraps of cocaine in her private part, two parcels in her handbag, and 67 ingested pellets.
After days of excretion, she expelled all 67 pellets, admitting she had intended to swallow 70 but resorted to concealing the remaining three. The total seizure weighed 2.523kg.
In another operation at Lagos’ Murtala Mohammed International Airport, a 22-year-old British national, Campell Kaizra Kofi Johannes Slifer, was arrested on May 9 with 37.60kg of cannabis (Loud) hidden in two suitcases.
Slifer, who had prior convictions in the UK for drug trafficking and robbery, confessed to being recruited in London to transport the drugs from Thailand to Nigeria.
Meanwhile, in Niger State, NDLEA officers intercepted a fuel truck and three other vehicles on May 7, recovering 3,047kg of cannabis (skunk) and arresting four suspects: Christopher Onyema, Benedict Etineruba Young, Chukwudi Ujue Jerry, and Mohammed Abdullahi Danasabe.
Additional operations led to more arrests:
– In Lagos, two suspects, Eze Chekube Emmanuel and Ike Samuel Chinyerem, were caught with 109,914 pills of tramadol, swinol, and nitrozepam on May 8.
– In Kaduna, two men were arrested with 52.5kg of skunk in a bus on May 6.

The NDLEA also continued its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign, conducting sensitization lectures in schools and communities across Sokoto, Anambra, Niger, Akwa Ibom, and Oyo states.
Commending the efforts of NDLEA personnel, Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) praised their balanced approach in reducing drug supply and demand nationwide.
