Napoli initially set a tag of €130 million (£110.8 million) by club President Aurelio de Laurentiis.

Because the high price may be scaring new clubs away, indications are that Napoli may ready to drop that initial assessment to €100 million.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, via Football Italia, this is to free up much-needed transfer cash for new manager Antonio Conte who seeks to restore the pride of the Italian side that won the Scudetto two seasons ago.

English Premier League (EPL) side, Arsenal FC, had made unsuccessful offer for Osimhen, imploring Napoli to lower their asking price.

The are indications that layer Osimhen want to stay in Europe. However, Saudi Pro League clubs who could afford such a big sum have not come up.

Apart from Arsenal, Chelsea also offered Napoli €90 million in cash plus Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku for Victor Osimhen.

Gianluca Di Marzio, an Italian transfer specialist, said Chelsea may offer Napoli a partial exchange for Osimhen.

In the proposed trade, Chelsea would pay €90 million in cash to Napoli in exchange for Lukaku, including a young talent, in exchange for Osimhen’s signature.
