NAF strikes terrorist stronghold in Borno, claims major victory

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced a significant operational achievement following a coordinated airstrike in Borno State.

Conducted under Operation HADIN KAI, the air interdiction targeted the AbbagaJiri area within the Timbuktu Triangle.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, stated on Saturday that the mission was launched based on credible multi-source intelligence confirming active terrorist presence, structures, and hidden logistics facilities in the location.

In the operation, NAF aircraft performed integrated surveillance and precision strikes against the identified targets.

The action was designed to degrade terrorist capabilities, deny them sanctuary, and prepare the environment for ground forces, while strictly following rules of engagement to protect civilians.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, commented that the mission’s success underscores the NAF’s determination to control the airspace in support of joint military operations.

He confirmed that the targeted terrorist structures were destroyed, and a follow-up strike neutralized armed elements seen regrouping at the site.

Subsequent advances by ground troops into the area verified the effectiveness of the air strikes, confirming the success of the joint air-land operation.

Air Marshal Aneke reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to relentless, intelligence-driven operations, vowing to sustain pressure until terrorist networks are completely dismantled.
