Breaking: NAF helicopter crashes in Niger village

A Nigerian Air Force MI-171 Helicopter has crashed in Niger State.
The NAF helicopter, which was on a casualty evacuation mission, crashed near Chubuka village in Niger State.
The crash, which occurred on Monday, departed Zungeru Primary School enroute Kaduna.
A statement by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, stated that the aircraft crashed at about 1.00pm.
It was, however, discovered to have crashed near Chukuba Village in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
Rescue workers are at the scene of the crash supported by passengers on board the helicopter.
Preliminary investigations have commenced to determine the probable cause of the crash.
