A Magistrate Court in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, has discharged popular musician Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, in connection with the death of singer Aloba Oladimeji IleriOluwa, widely known as Mohbad. Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje, relying on the legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), ruled that Naira Marley had no case to answer.
Alongside Naira Marley, the court also released music promoter Samson Balogun Eletu (Sam Larry), Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.
However, the DPP has announced that Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad, and his friend, Ayobami Sadiq, will face prosecution. They are being charged with reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015. Their trial will commence at the Magistrate Court, with further details expected soon.
