May Day: NIWOSEC hails Nigerian workers contributions to national growth

The Nigerian workers’ contributions to nation’s growth has been hailed by Executive Director,
Nigerian Workforce Strategy and Enlightenment Centre (NIWOSEC), Dr David Kayode Ehindero.

In a statement on May 1, 2023 to commemorate Workers Day, NIWOSEC congratulated Nigerian workers, urging government to maximize resourceful workers for a productive and industrial nation.

The statement reads: “The Nigerian Workforce Strategy and Enlightenment Centre (NIWOSEC) extends warm congratulations to Nigerian workers on the occasion of the 2023 Workers Day.

“This day is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of the Nigerian workforce to the development of our nation.

“As we celebrate this year’s Workers Day, NIWOSEC urges Nigerian workers to rededicate themselves to the transformation of Nigeria from a developing nation to a developed one in the coming years. We believe that the Nigerian workforce has the potential to drive the country’s economic growth and development, and we call on workers to embrace innovation, creativity and hard work in their various fields of endeavor”.

NIWOSEC also called on the Nigerian government to maximize the opportunities presented by its resourceful workers to achieve a productive and industrial nation.

“We urged the government to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, create jobs and improve the standard of living for all Nigerians.

“We also call on the government to prioritize the welfare of the Nigerian workforce by providing good working conditions, fair wages and benefits, and access to quality healthcare and education.

“As we mark this year’s Workers Day, NIWOSEC reaffirms its commitment to working with Nigerian workers and the government to achieve sustainable economic growth and development in Nigeria,” the organisation said.
