Pochettino replaces Gregg Berhalter who was remived as head coach of the team in July.

Pochettino was sacked by Chelsea at the end of the 2023/24 season and he was offered the plum job after contacts with several managers who wanted to become the new USMNT manager.

The former Chelsea and Spurs head coach is now set to lead the US to the next World Cup which will be staged in 2026.

The 52-year-old has succeeded at the club level. He won Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain and made unprecedented Champions League final appearance with Tottenham in 2019.

Only in May, Pochettino left Chelsea by mutual consent, despite guiding the club to a sixth-place finish in the English Premier League (EPL).
