The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court (FHC), Justice John Tsoho, has clarified that the digitisation transition scheduled to commence on June 23 in Lagos division would run concurrently with the manual process.

The CJ made this known in a statement by the Chief Registrar of the court, Sulaiman Amida Hassan, made available to newsmen in Abuja.

According to him, this decision has been taken to ensure a seamless and inclusive adoption of the e-filing transition, while addressing feedback and operational concerns received from stakeholders.

“The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria Honorable Justice  John Terhemba Tsoho, OFR, KSS, FCIArb.(UK) wishes to inform legal practitioners in the Lagos Judicial Division and its environs, that the digitisation transition previously scheduled to commence on June 23, 2025 would still hold, but will run concurrently with the manual process; that is to say, adopting a hybrid implementation of the policy.

“It is important to clarify that, this reform is being introduced with careful planning and in phases, taking into consideration the infrastructure, capacity and preparedness of users and staff.

“Also, it is to enhance access to Justice and align with global best practices in Judicial Administration.

“Legal practitioners are still strongly encouraged to obtain and activate their Legal Mail accounts via https://nigerianbar.ng, as possession of a Legal Mail remains a key requirement for accessing the e-filing platform.

“Further updates and a new timeline for the full transition to  the e-filing process will be communicated in due course,” he said.
