This innovative creation, reported by Daily Mail, introduces a cutting-edge approach to digital transactions, allowing users to complete purchases with a simple wave of their fingernails at contactless card terminals.

Crafted by technology company Smart Chip, this £13 device securely stores the user’s bank card details and seamlessly integrates with a mobile app for swift and convenient payments.

With this futuristic manicure technology, individuals can embark on shopping sprees, dine out at restaurants, and make purchases effortlessly, even if they happen to forget their wallet, phone, cash or smartwatch.

The ingenious cuticle caps made their debut at a pop-up salon in the Excel Centre in Canning Town, east London.

The Sun detailed how to install the chip: affix it to the desired nail and then apply nail polish over it.

Customers with existing artificial nails can opt for a £9 fee to have the Smart Chip installed seamlessly.

However, users should anticipate replacing the chip approximately every two months, with maintenance required between five to seven times annually, depending on nail length.

Rudolph Räber, the founder of Smart Chip, expressed enthusiasm about the invention, highlighting its omnipresence and customizable design.

He asserted that Smart Chip is a constant companion, easily concealed beneath a coat of nail polish.

Despite claims of invulnerability to theft, Räber acknowledged potential vulnerabilities, albeit emphasizing the convenience of never leaving the payment method behind.

Digiseq, a London-based firm specializing in wearable payment solutions, manages transaction processing for these innovative fingernail payment chips.
