Man arrested for setting five stepchildren ablaze after wife denies him sex

The Ondo State Police Command has has confirmed the arrest of a man, Joseph Ojo, who was said to have set his five step children ablze because his and tbeir mother denied him sex.

The state police command spokeswoman, SP Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the incident, saying the suspect had been arrested for suspected murder and arson.

The incident occurred in Ondo town in the state at the weekend after a 54-year-old man, Joseph Ojo, set his five stepchildren ablaze.

Reports said the suspect committed the dastardly act be his wife and mother of those children denied him sex.

Sources claimed that Ojo poured petrol in the children’s room while they were sleeping and set the toom on fire.

One of the sources said the man and his wife got into an argument because she had been refusing him sex.

With one of the children dead from burns, the other four children were taken to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owo, where they are still undergoing treatment.
The woman managed to flee with her 18-month-old twins, wich she had with the man. She suffered minor injuries.
