Luis Figo picks Haaland or Benzema to win Ballon d’Or 2023

Former Barcelona and Real Madrid star, Luis Figo, said Manchester City’s Erling Haaland or Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema will win this year’s Ballon d’Or ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi.

Figo believes Haaland is having a great season at Manchester City, while Benzema can still win the Ballon d’Or again.

Benzema won the Ballon d’Or last year after beating the likes of Sadio Mane and Kevin de Bruyne.

Figo, who spoke about who can win this year’s Ballon d’Or on the sidelines of the Laureus Sports Awards, said (via Mundo Deportivo): “Maybe Haaland because he is having a great season, but Benzema can still win it.

“I do not choose Messi because he is not in the Champions League and for me, that is decisive.”
