The Lagos State House of Assembly has impeached their Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.
Obasa, who was removed over gross misconduct, was replaced by the Deputy Speaker, Hon Lasbat Meranda.
The Deputy Chief Whip, Hon Fatai Mojeed, is elected as the Deputy Speaker.
Indeed, Obasa has been enmeshed in controversies linked with alleged financial dealings.
A source confirmed that, “Obasa is impeached and the deputy speaker, Mojisola Meranda, elected speaker. Mojeed Fatai is the Deputy Speaker.”
Obasa was only five months to clocking 10 years as Speaker before he was removed.
