Lagos Police confirm Portable’s arrest over G-Wagon debt

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested popular and controversial street musician Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, on Tuesday.

Portable was arrested over his alleged refusal to honour payment of a debt he incurred when he purchased G-Wagon from Unique Motors, a car dealer in the state.
Portable was said to have paid only N13 million after purchasing the vehicle, worth N27 million, refusing to pay the N14 million balance.
The car dealer reportedly took the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of the singer.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, also confirmed the arrest to newsmen.
“The report is true. He was arrested today,” confirmed the Lagos Police Command PRO.
The singer, who had been an ambassador for the brand, had expressed grievances over a Brabus G wagon he purchased from them, which was later involved in an accident, calling out Adebiyi Adesina, the owner of Unique Motors on social media over their ongoing dispute.
Portable emphasized that he is still in possession of the automobile’s documents and hinted at considering an ambassadorial deal from another car company.
Portable also shared his frustration over the termination of his contract and the repossession of his jeep, urging fans to be cautious in trusting others.
