Kwara sets up 7-member committee on attacked Woro community

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has directed setting up a seven-member committee to interface with the Woro community regarding the humanitarian support that the Governor announced on Thursday.

A statement on Friday, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, stated that the chairman of the committee is His Royal Highness, Hon. Ahmed Ibn Muhammad, the Kiwozi of Kugiji, who is a former lawmaker from Kaiama Local Government Area.

Other members on the committee are the Vice Chairman of the Local Government Council, Aisha Abubakar Sadiq, and Alhaji Abubakar Mora, Woro Village Head Alhaji Umar Bio Saliu.

The Committee also has representatives of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), as well as a representative of the Office of the Secretary to the State Government who should be a female.

The committee is given four weeks to carry out its assignment, interfacing with the community leaders on rebuilding efforts, areas of need of the survivors, and other outstanding issues.
