Kwankwaso sets fresh demands to rejoin  APC

The national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has declared he will only consider rejoining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under strict, pre-agreed conditions.

In a video message shared by his media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, the former governor of Kano State stated that any move must be founded on clear terms, not blind allegiance.

He insisted on knowing his specific role, the party’s political direction, and securing assurances for the welfare of the masses and his supporters.

“I will not go to the APC blindly,” Kwankwaso said. “I must be clearly informed of my role, the direction of the journey, and the fate of our plans for the common people, including the position of our supporters and the Kano State Government. That is my stand.”

He emphasised that political decisions must be guided by principles and formal agreements that put public interest above personal ambition.

These remarks follow ongoing speculation about a potential defection by the current Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, to the APC. While the governor is said to have been receptive to such calls, Kwankwaso has maintained that any party realignment requires thorough consultation and explicitly defined terms.
