Katsina to build data centre in push for e-Governance

The Katsina State Government has announced plans to construct its own Data Centre next year.

The initiative aims to enhance digital public services and ensure data sovereignty.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda made the declaration during the launch of a new e-Governance System for top officials across state ministries and agencies.

He described the upcoming Data Centre as the future “heartbeat” of the state’s e-government services.

The Governor emphasized that the current shift to a Paperless Government is a fundamental reform that requires a change in culture and work methods.

He charged Permanent Secretaries and Directors, as custodians of this change, to lead the digital transformation within the public service.

Radda stated that the training program will soon be expanded to include all civil servants.

The state’s long-term goal is to create a smart, efficient, and transparent government where processes are fast, powered by data and innovation.
