The Kano State government has issued a stern warning to supporters of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, stating that any inflammatory statements or insults directed at the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will face disciplinary measures.
The Director General of Media and Publicity for the Government House, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, delivered the warning during a motorcycle distribution event at the Open Space Theatre, which Governor Yusuf attended. Bature emphasized that the government will not tolerate acts of indiscipline or disrespect toward Kwankwaso, whom he described as a political leader whose role in Kano must be acknowledged.
He urged the governor’s supporters to act with restraint and maturity, particularly during a period of heightened political tension following recent realignments in the state.
Bature stressed the government’s commitment to peace and internal cohesion, adding that political disagreements must not become personal attacks.
This warning follows mixed reactions within the political landscape after Governor Yusuf’s recent resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
