Kano Gov dismisses ADC as ‘party of jokers,’ vows re-election on APC platform

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has branded the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) a “party of jokers” incapable of ever winning an election in Kano State.

Speaking before a large crowd of supporters at the Government House in Kano upon his return from the APC National Convention in Abuja and the party’s Northwest Zonal Congress in Kaduna, Yusuf expressed confidence in securing a second term under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“There was only one term in the NNPP, and we will go for a second term in the APC. As for the ADC that they moved to, it will never have even a single term,” he said.

He urged Kano and Nigerian citizens not to be misled by the ADC or other parties, calling them “a pack of jokers who could not make any meaningful political gains despite their groupings.”

Highlighting his administration’s achievements over the past two to three years in empowerment, infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and water supply, he appealed for another mandate to deliver even more.

Yusuf also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for efforts to improve the economy and provide infrastructure across geopolitical zones, declaring that Kano would back Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

“We in Kano State are fully behind Mr President and will support his re-election in 2027 by the grace of Allah,” he added.

He concluded by describing the APC as the dominant political platform capable of winning elections at all levels in the state and nationwide.

He is also into biography writing, with many books in his trail, some of which he wrote alone and one he co- authored with his mentor, Mr Dare Babarinsa, entitled: Olabiyi Durojaiye – DARE TO BE DiFFERENT. He also guided and collaborated with Pa Olatunji Odusanya in writing his autobiography – AGAINST ALL ODDS. There are many other books in the works under his pen.
