IGP Disu Orders Immediate Redeployment of Commissioners of Police Across Formations

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has ordered the redeployment of commissioners of police (CPs) across various formations within the Nigeria Police Force.

According to sources, the redeployments were communicated via a wireless message from the Office of the Force Secretary, with the postings taking immediate effect. The move follows a previous redeployment of assistant inspectors general of police (AIGs) earlier this month.

The reshuffle affects CPs heading key departments and commands, including the Nigeria Police Force National Central Criminal Command (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja, the Special Protection Unit at force headquarters, and INTERPOL.

Other affected postings include the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) annexes in Kaduna and Lagos, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit in Abuja, the Eastern Port Authority, the Police College in Ikeja, and the Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi.

Several administrative and specialised units were also impacted, such as Community Policing, Safer Highways, courses at POLAC, and the Directorate of Music at force headquarters in Abuja.

Dele Fashomi, seasoned journalist and communication teacher, is a holder of Master of Arts degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan in 1992/93.

Dele Fashomi is now the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Newstide247.com newspaper online, which he started in July 2015. He is also into biography writing, with many books in his trail, some of which he wrote alone and one he co- authored with his mentor, Mr Dare Babarinsa, entitled:  Olabiyi Durojaiye – DARE TO BE DiFFERENT.
