Heavy Security as APC Holds NEC Meeting in Abuja
There is heavy security presence wound around the venue of the All Progressives Congress’s National Executive Committee meeting at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
All roads leading to the venue on Blantyre Street have been cordoned off by a combined team of armed security personnel, including soldiers from the Guards Brigade. Both vehicular and pedestrian movements on the street have been restricted.
Among the early arrivals were members of the National Working Committee (NWC), the Forum of State Chairmen, former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, Minister of Budget and National Planning Atiku Bagudu, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.
The meeting is also expected to be attended by key party figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.
The NEC meeting follows the party’s national caucus meeting, which took place the previous day at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
