Gov. Lawal meets Tinubu over Zamfara’s security, economy, politics

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday at the State House in Abuja to discuss security, economic developments, and political issues in the state.

According to a statement by the governor’s spokesman, Sulaiman Idris, the talks centered mainly on Zamfara’s security situation. Lawal briefed the president on progress made in tackling insecurity and pointed out areas needing further intervention to restore lasting peace.

President Tinubu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting Zamfara, including plans to increase troop deployment and supply necessary equipment to strengthen security operations.

The governor also updated the president on the state’s economic performance, especially improvements in internally generated revenue, and requested additional federal support to boost local industries and create jobs.

The meeting took place shortly after the president’s engagement with governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
